Venus figurines of the Upper Paleolithic

The earliest artistic creations date back as far as 40,000 years to the Upper Paleolithic. Among them, Venus figurines are the most representative. It is said that their big breasts and hips mean female power, or fertility.

Most Venuses are faceless, but "the Venus of Brassempouy" is a rare exception. Make sure it has detailed facial features and hair.

Venus statues have been discovered across much of Eurasia. Some of those unearthed in Siberia bear patterns on their bodies, which look like clothing.

As time went on, the forms of Venus got more simplified. They are so abstract that we can hardly recognize them as human figures.
